Wrestlemania 31 review - 2

Wrestlemania 31 Review -2

John Cena vs Rusev ( United States championship)
Winner - John Cena

This match was very predictable as was its outcome. The story line of this match had nothing new to offer. In fact this story line has been repeated many time in WWE since the times of Yokozuna to The Great Khali. This was a desperate attempt to save the fading popularity of John Cena by the WWE think tanks. The flavour of patriotism was added as John Cena on his own was unable to give the desired excitement to the audience. But to say that this attempt didn't helped to make John Cena popular as he was earlier will not be unfair. As far as the match goes it was dominated by Rusev for most of the times and John Cena picking up the speed only towards the end. The match ended with and FU by John Cena to end the undefeated run of Rusev in WWE. As far as Rusev is concerned he will stay there for a year or two before fading away like The Great Khali, Umaga, Cris Masters to name a few.**0.5/5.

The Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt
Winner - The Undertaker

This match was made to draw crowds for this wrestlemania and to set up the clash of The Undertaker and Sting for the next wrestlemania. The match started with the demonic entrances of both superstars which consumed quite a bit of time. The match started with The Undertaker hitting the big boot on the face of Bray Wyatt followed by the Old school. After this Undertaker performed his signature moves inside and outside the rings only to get clothesline by Bray Wyatt. After this for a long time Bray Wyatt dominated the match to show that The Undertaker was definitely not the same as he used to be. This is a part of the new story line which either will lead to Undertaker vs Brock lesnar or his face off with Sting. Towards the end of the match both stars delivers their finishing manurers which both successfully kicks out. Bray Wyatt tries to deliver his finishing move second time which The Undertaker reverses and turns it into a Tombstone Pile driver. The total point of this match was to show that the undertaker has deteriorated and is no more the phenomenon he used to be. This marks the beginning of the story line which will ultimately result into The Undertakers last match which may be with Sting next wresltemania. For now Undertaker will go for his revenge against Brock Lesnar and may wreslte in a pay per view late this year. Possibilty is that Sting will interfere resulting in loss of the Undertaker to kick start Sting Vs Undertaker story line.

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reign
Winner - Seth Rollins (Money in the Bank)

This was the most intense match of the evening. With Brock Lesnar dominating most of the part of the match suplexing Roman Reigns through out the ring. Upto 9 suplex were delivered by Brock lesnar resulting in blood coming out from Roman Reigns mouth. Roman Reigns showed some strength towards the end of the match hitting Lesnar's head on the pole making him busted open. He delivered 3 superman punches and two spheres to Lesnar only to see him kich out. On the other hand Reigns survived 3 F-5's delivered by Brock Lesnar. Both superstars after giving their blood and sweat to the match saw Mr money in the Bank Seth Rollins cashing in on the opportunity to become the world heavy weight champion. Seth rollins entered the ring only to be lifted by Brock Lesnar for and F-5 but Reigns hit Lesnar with a sphere resulting Brock falling down from the ring. Seth rollins than hit his finishing move on Roman Reigns to become the world heavy weight champion. This was very cleverly set story line which will lead to Roman Reigns and Seth rollins rivalary ultimately resulting in Roman Reigns becoming the Heavy weight champion. On the other hand Brock Lesnar is free for the Undertaker to take his last years revenge. As the Undertaker will definitely retire after next or 2017 wrestlemania. The only superstars he will wrestle in coming years will be Brock Lesnar and Sting.
I will rate this match as ****/5.

Over all Wresltemania 31 was better than its previous version. The high points of this wrestlemania were Randy ortons RKO, HHH vs Sting, Undertakers return, and Seth Rollins stealing the WWE Heavy Weight Championship. The low points were the 30 man battle royal not being shown in main event, they could have easly skipped showing the performances of the two singers which wasted about 10-12 minutes. Another low point was when The Rock shows up to interrupt HHH and Stephanie McMahon who were bragging about how they improved WWE. This leads to an argument between the Rock and Stephanie resulting Stephanie slapping The Rock. The rock leaves the ring and brings back a lady wrestler form the crowd resulting in small face off between the four. With HHH and Stephanie getting the beating they leave the ring with The Rock finishing the conversation with (if you smell.......). Here people were disappointed because The Rock neither delivers Rock bottom nor People's elbow. If the brought rock for a cameo they should have added those moves for crowed to cheer. Due to the lack of content this appeared to be waste of time which could have easily be utilized by showing 30 man battle royal. Overall this Wrestlmania was worth watching. I will rate ***0.5/5.
